Pylon Racing School

Flying 220mph. At 50ft. off the ground. Taught by experienced race pilots Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS) is a unique and productive opportunity for race pilots to prepare, practice and become certified to race.

The 22nd Annual Pylon Racing Seminar [PRS] will be held June 5-8, 2019 at Reno Stead Field for both the “Standard” and “Classic” classes.

Whether you are an NCAR experienced racer or a Rookie, the Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS) offers something for everyone. If you plan on racing in the National Championship Air Races this September, this seminar is highly recommended! Check-in is Tuesday, June 4th. Who must attend the Pylon Racing Seminar?
You must attend PRS if you fall into any one of the following categories:
1. Never raced at the Reno National Championship Air Races.
2. Raced in a different race classes at the Reno National Championship Air Races.
3. Not raced in the same race classes in Reno within the past three years.

T-6 Racing

The Nation Championship Air Races is our premier event. It will be held this year, 2019, September 11 thru 15 at Stead Field, Nv. We race both Standard and Classic classes.

The deadline for applications is on June 14. T6 Tech inspections will start on September 6. All Race planes must be in Place at Stead by September 7.

T6 racing started in Reno in 1968. This year the 55th annual National Championship Air Races will be held September 11 thru 15 2019. We offer 2 divisions of racing inside of our class. The first is the Racing T6 which allows some minor modifications to the aircraft. The second is our new Classics Class which holds to the true T6, as it was originally designed.

 

The Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) entry package and racing information can be found at their web site www.airrace.org/racing/racer-application-info/. The deadline for the entry package is June 14th 2019.

 

T6 racers need to be on the ramp at Stead no later than noon Saturday September 9th. Our Tech inspections start on Friday September 8th. There is a mandatory in brief on Sunday a.m. Flying will start on that Sunday with practice and qualifying. Racing starts on Wednesday thru Sunday with an awards banquet following the end of the races.
